The 2026 CMS updates make RPM more accessible and financially rewarding.
Beginning January 1, 2026, CMS aligned with AMA recommendations to lower the barriers for RPM reimbursement, supporting both short-term and lower-frequency monitoring.
Shifted from 16 days down to 2–15 days of readings for base reimbursement.
Reduced from 20 minutes to just 10 minutes of clinical review.
CPT 99453 now requires only 2 days of readings to bill, not 16.
